Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergbieten

  • Riesling Altenberg Sélection de Vieilles Vignes

  • A clear, yellow colour with yellow-green highlights. The bouquet is complex, with a refreshing attack with notes that show off the typical character of the terroir (cedar, tobacco, Earl Grey tea, beeswax, etc.). The mouth is dominated by the mineral, salty characteristics of Altenberg, with fruit in the young wine giving way with time to more complex aromas of thyme and other herbs. The finish is long-lasting, helped by an elegant, mature acidity that is to be expected in the finest Grands Crus.

  • Gewurztraminer Altenberg

  • Crystal-clear with golden highlights.
The nose is highly expressive, with lovely fruity notes of apricot and quince blending harmoniously with the more floral character of elderberry and wild rose. A superbly balanced wine that combines perfect maturity of a highly characteristic varietal and the excellent breeding shown by the long finish and the mature acidity provided by the terroir.

  • Pinot Gris Altenberg

  • A clear, pale yellow, with crystal highlights.
The bouquet is complex with a blend of forest floor and aniseed complemented by the expression of the terroir (grilled capsicums).
The mouth shows good consistency with a silky texture producing aromas of ripe fruit over a mineral freshness. The finish provides an excellent balance between flavours, alcohol and freshness. A wine to be left a few years in the cellar to allow it to develop all its complexity.
